Introduction
CreativityHub ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
When you use CreativityHub, you may provide the following information:
- Projects: Project names, descriptions, statuses, and organizational metadata
- Ideas: Creative ideas with titles, descriptions, source URLs, and source type detection (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, Website)
- Notes: Text notes associated with your projects
- Checklists: Checklists with items, completion status, and progress tracking
- Expenses: Expense amounts, currencies, categories, dates, and descriptions
- Documents: Files you upload (PDF, JPEG, PNG, HEIC) including project-related documents
- Reminders: Reminder titles, dates, and associated projects
- Work Logs: Time entries with durations, descriptions, and linked checklist items
- Tags: Custom tags you create for organizing content
- Shared Content: Files and links you share into CreativityHub via the iOS Share Extension from other apps (e.g. Safari, Instagram, Photos)
Automatically Collected Information
- Activity Logs: The app records in-app actions (creating, editing, deleting items) locally to generate weekly activity charts. These logs are stored only on your device and are automatically deleted after 6 months. Activity logs are not included in backups or exports.
- Usage Data: Information about how you use the app, including features accessed and app performance data
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide core app functionality for managing your creative projects, ideas, and tasks
- Generate activity analytics and progress charts inside the app
- Calculate expense summaries and budget breakdowns by category
- Send local notifications for reminders you create
- Improve app performance and user experience
Data Storage
Core app content (projects, ideas, notes, checklists, expenses, documents, reminders, work logs, tags, and activity logs) is stored locally on your device by default. We do not operate our own backend server that stores your project content.
Document files (PDFs, images) you upload are stored in the app's local Documents directory on your device.
If you enable iCloud backup, your selected data is copied to your personal iCloud account. If analytics is active (Release builds), limited usage metadata is sent to Firebase Analytics as described below.
iCloud Backup
CreativityHub offers iCloud backup functionality to help you safeguard your data. When you enable iCloud backup in the app:
- Your projects, ideas, notes, checklists, expenses, documents, reminders, work logs, and tags are backed up to your personal iCloud account
- Document files are included in the backup
- Backups are encrypted by Apple and protected by your Apple ID
- Data is accessible only through your iCloud account
- Backup and sync is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
You can enable or disable iCloud backup at any time in the app settings. If disabled, all data remains stored locally on your device only.
Export and Import
CreativityHub allows you to export your data in JSON format and import data from JSON files. When you export:
- All project data and related entities are included in the export file
- The export file is saved to a location you choose
- You control who has access to the exported file
Location Services
CreativityHub does not use location services.
Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics in Release builds to collect usage data that helps us understand how the app is used and improve the user experience. This includes:
- App usage patterns: Which features are used, screen views, and user interactions
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version
- Performance data: App launch times, crashes, and errors
- Technical identifiers: A pseudonymous app user identifier generated on first launch (`user_id`) and a per-session identifier (`session_id`)
Analytics data is:
- Pseudonymous and does not include your project content such as notes, document files, checklist text, or expense details
- Processed by Google/Firebase in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy
- Used solely to improve app functionality and user experience
You can limit ad tracking and analytics collection through your device's privacy settings (Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking).
Notifications
CreativityHub uses local notifications for reminders you create. These notifications:
- Are processed entirely on your device
- Do not transmit any data to external servers
- Can be disabled through iOS Settings or within the app
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information. We only share data with third-party providers when needed to provide optional backup and analytics features.
- Apple iCloud (optional): If you enable iCloud backup, backup files are stored in your personal iCloud account and handled by Apple.
- Google Firebase Analytics: Usage analytics metadata is sent to Firebase as described in the Analytics section.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data:
- All data is stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage mechanisms
- Document files are stored in the app's sandboxed Documents directory
- When iCloud backup is enabled, backups are protected by your Apple ID and Apple's security controls
- Analytics transmission uses Firebase's encrypted transport and service protections
- Data is protected by your device's built-in security features
Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access Your Data: All your data is accessible within the app
- Delete Your Data: You can delete individual records or all data through the app settings
- Export Your Data: You can export all your project data in JSON format from the app
- Control Backups: You can enable or disable iCloud backup at any time
Supported Languages
CreativityHub is available in 3 languages: English, Russian, and Kazakh. Your language preference is determined by your device settings or can be set within the app.
Children's Privacy
CreativityHub is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Data Retention
Your project data (projects, ideas, notes, checklists, expenses, documents, reminders, work logs, tags) is retained on your device until you manually delete it. We do not have access to your data and therefore do not control retention periods.
Activity logs used for in-app analytics charts are automatically deleted after 6 months to keep your device storage usage reasonable.
If iCloud backup is enabled, the app also applies cleanup rules to backup files (for example limiting the number of stored backups and removing older backup files) to reduce storage usage.
International Users
Your core project data is stored locally on your device. If you use iCloud backup or analytics features, data may be processed in other countries by Apple and Google/Firebase according to their privacy terms.
